The City Clerk's Office main responsibilities are:
- Keeping the corporate City Seal
- Protecting the records of the City and providing quality public records management and service
- Preparing and posting notices and agendas of meetings in accordance with the Nevada Open meeting law
- Preparing agenda packets for City Council meetings - City Council Dates for 2007-2008
The City Clerk’s Office maintains the official record of the proceedings of the City Council and all other related City Council records such as resolutions, ordinances and proclamations.
Another function of the City Clerk’s Office is conducting municipal elections and providing voting and municipal election information along with voter registration services.
The Clerk's Office is also responsible for and oversees:
- Bids & Legal Notices - Current Bids
- Financial Report publications
- Public Notices
- Public Information Requests - Public Information Request Form
- Special Events - Special Event Permit Application
- Countersign all contracts made in behalf of the City and attest all documents signed by the Mayor
- Oversees and maintains the City's central supplies storage area
- Acts as the central public information and materials center
